BHFit FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What exactly is HCG?
A: HCG is a naturally produced hormone produced in both men and women, which stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It is primarily produced in large amounts by pregnant women, and largely influences the metabolic function of the body by stimulating the hypothalamus.
Q: How does HCG work?
A: Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, a British Physician who devoted years of research on patient’s suffering from obesity, found that the use of a very low calorie diet, combined with the use of HCG hormone allowed patients to lose weight rapidly, which was more effective than diet and exercise alone. The HCG hormone increases energy levels and suppresses the appetite, which essentially is the reason for weight loss. Patients lose more fat tissue directly from adipose tissue accumulations, creating highly visible contouring of the body. You can read more about Dr. Simeons paper “Pounds and Inches” by visiting our website at www.Belcarahealth.com/wellness.
Q: Who is the recommended population for the BHFit programs?
A: Potential candidates for this program are healthy, but typically overweight, males and females all with the common goal of successful weight loss. Here at Belcara Health, we make sure that you are properly screened by a physician and a licensed dietitian to make sure you are a safe candidate for this program before beginning. There is also a complete program planned with multiple, frequent visits to Belcara Health throughout your HCG diet journey for support and guidance.
Q: Who can use HCG?
A: Millions of people of both sexes have used the HCG diet and hormone therapy to lose weight safely and successfully. It is not recommended to participate in the HCG diet if you are vegan or pregnant.
Q: BHFit (23 day) or BHFit+ (43 day): Which program is right for me?
A: The BHFit program is for patients that are interested in losing 15 pounds or less. If your goal is to lose more than 15 pounds, the BHFit+ may be right for you. The appropriate program will be discussed with the medical team during the Education and Planning stage of the program.
Q: How much will I lose?
A: The average women on a 43 day cycle should lose between 15 and 40 pounds or .375 to 1 pound per day. While we would all like to be at the high end, this number will be determined by how much weight you have to lose to begin with and how well you adhere to the program. Because men generally have a higher ratio of muscle to fat, they will often lose weight faster than women. On the BHFit and BHFit+ programs, a man may lose up to 1 pound per day. However, just as with women, the amount of weight lost will depend on how well you adhere to the program.
Q: Are the HCG injections painful?
A: The HCG hormone injections are administered using a very tiny, fine needle and it is recommended to inject into areas of the body that are not particularly sensitive. Most people who have completed the BHFit program report the injections are relatively painless. A commonly used tip for preventing painful injections include poking the intended area and finding the least sensitive location to use, or a quick “smack” to the area to stun the location, followed by immediate sanitizing with an alcohol swab, and then the needle in that area quickly.
Q: I forgot to take my HCG dosage on my loading days. Should I start again?
A: Yes, it would be best to start again. In order to achieve maximum weight loss results, it is important to follow the BHFit program protocols as directed. The HCG hormone requires a couple of days to get fully into your system to allow your metabolism to efficiently begin burning off glycogen stores. Although you will still lose SOME weight if you continue this round, this is a specific program that needs to be followed carefully for the results discussed. We recommend waiting one week to restart taking your HCG dose as directed on the first day of the loading phase.
