Breast Augmentation Cost and Recovery
The cost of a breast augmentation procedure in Maryland can vary greatly depending on your surgeon’s experience, the extent of work being done, and your location. At Belcara Health, the cost of a breast augmentation procedure starts at $3600. However, it is important to note that this starting price is a general estimate only; the actual cost of your breast augmentation procedure will differ depending on your body type and goals. Today, there are several breast augmentation options including, saline or silicone breast implants, round or anatomically shaped breast implants, breast augmentations with a lift, fat transfer augmentations, and more.
The best way to determine your breast augmentation cost is to schedule a consultation. During your consultation, your surgeon will listen carefully to your concerns and goals and assess your medical history, lifestyle, and anatomy. Together, you will review your treatment options and develop a personalized plan that meets all your needs. Only then are we able to provide an accurate price quote, which we include. We also offer financing for those that are interested.
How Long Does It Take to Recover From Breast Augmentation Surgery?
Breast augmentation recovery varies depending on your age, the type of procedure performed, and your overall health. In most cases, patients can expect a breast augmentation recovery period of 4 to 6 weeks. Older patients and those who undergo more intensive procedures can expect a longer recovery period

The Best Breast Implant Options
We offer a full range of FDA-approved breast implant options to meet your needs. Our trusted partner providers have a proven track record of creating high-quality, safe, and durable implants. During your consultation, your surgeon will listen carefully to your goals, assess your anatomy, and help you make informed choices about breast implant options including size, filling, projection, texture, and shape. Your final implant choice will depend on a variety of factors, including your age, natural anatomy, existing breast tissue, the elasticity of your skin, and your desired final appearance.
Breast Implant Filling, Profile, and Shape
You might already know that you will be choosing between silicone and saline implants for your breast augmentation filling, but do you know what the best breast profile and shape is for your body?
1) Filling: Saline or Silicone Gel
Saline implants have an outer silicone rubber shell that is filled to the desired size with a sterile saline solution. Because saline implants are filled during the breast enlargement procedure, your surgeon can adjust the size as needed. A cost-effective choice, saline implants have been available since the early 1990s and provide nice-looking, fuller breasts for many patients.
Silicone gel breast implants are composed of a gelatin-like substance that keeps form (like “gummy bears”) and feels more like natural breast tissue. These implants come in a large variety of shapes and sizes to achieve your wanted look. It is not uncommon to use different-sized implants for each breast to create symmetry. Because silicone implants look and feel so soft and natural, they are a very popular choice among breast augmentation patients.
2) Profile: Low, Moderate, Moderate-Plus, or High
LOW/MODERATE |
MODERATE PLUS |
HIGH PROFILE |
Your breast Implant profile is a measure of base width vs. forward projection of the implants. A higher implant profile projects more prominently from the breast than a lower profile of the same implant.
Each implant provider and implant type has varying ranges of profiles and uses different terminology. Depending on your chosen implants, you may have anywhere from one profile option to four options. The circumference of your chest wall will also help in selecting your profile. Generally, a narrow chest benefits from a higher implant profile to produce the desired size increase. This is due to needing a smaller base to achieve a natural look that fits your frame.
3) Shape: Round or Anatomically “Shaped”
Breast shape refers to whether a smooth or textured shell is better for you. Smooth-shelled implants are a good choice with round implants, as they provide more natural movement and tend to result in less rippling than textured implants.
Textured implants have a rough surface that is designed to stay in place within the breast pocket. If you pick silicone implants, they will have a textured shell to ensure the breast is full in the right places.
We can customize your breast implants to correct asymmetry
While many women have some size differences between the left and right breasts (the left breast is typically a little bigger), significant asymmetry can make it difficult to find bras & clothing that fit. Our surgeons correct breast asymmetry with customized breast implants or with a fat transfer procedure. By placing a larger implant or additional fat tissue on one side, your breasts will look naturally symmetrical, clothes will fit well, and you will feel more comfortable with your body.
You can “try on” your breast implants ahead of time with VECTRA 3-D Imaging
Our patients say that “trying on” breast implants is the best part of the consultation! You will stand in front of a mirror, trying on various-sized implants to see how each one looks on your body. During your breast implant sizing, you have the chance to preview your new appearance with VECTRA® 3D Imaging — a state-of-the-art photo imaging technology that provides patients with a personalized, 3D image of the results they can expect from their chosen breast implant procedure. Belcara Health is one of just a few offices to offer VECTRA 3D Imaging.
What is a Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation?
With a fat transfer breast augmentation procedure, fat is removed from one part of the body and carefully placed into the breasts to create the desired appearance. The fat is obtained by traditional liposuction, usually from the abdomen, thighs, flanks, or back. After the fat is purified, it is injected into the breasts to create a beautifully enhanced look. Fat transfer is also effective for the reconstruction of the breast after a mastectomy or lumpectomy and for correcting genetic conditions such as tuberous (underdeveloped) or asymmetrical breasts.
Can You Combine a Breast Augmentation with a Breast Lift?
While many patients seek either a breast lift or a breast augmentation, sometimes what they really need is a strategic combination of both.
What Is the Difference Between Breast Augmentation Surgery and a Breast Lift?
In some scenarios, patients may choose to undergo a breast augmentation with a lift, which can enhance the fullness, shape, and position of their breasts in a single procedure. A breast augmentation surgery involves implants or fat transfer to increase the fullness of breasts, while a breast lift procedure simply involves removing and lifting breast tissue to improve the placement and shape of breasts without adding any fullness.
