One of the latest additions to our suite of treatments for sexual health is the O-Shot ® procedure, or “orgasm shot.” A term first coined by Charles Runels, MD, the first to utilize PRP in the female pleasure zone, the O-shot uses a woman’s own blood for vaginal rejuvenation and enhanced sexual pleasure.
You may have heard about platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, used in other areas of our business, such as Men’s Sexual Health, Hair Loss Treatment, and skin rejuvenation. The platelets in our blood contain growth factors; when we draw them out of our blood, we can re-inject these platelets in small, target areas to activate stem cells and rejuvenate the tissue in the prescribed area. This catalyzes regrowth and increases tissue function in these areas.
The O-Shot procedure, or “orgasm shot,” involves injecting a patient’s own platelets directly into the vaginal tissue.
Our specially trained, functional medicine team draws the patient’s blood, and places it in a centrifuge, separating out the platelets. Once the platelets have been extracted from the blood, they are injected into the patients’ vaginal tissue using a very thin needle. This non-surgical, FDA-approved treatment immediately prompts the body to activate stem cells in the vagina and clitoris, revitalizing that area. The procedure is typically quick, with little to no discomfort.

The O-Shot is a minimally invasive procedure with minimal downtime. Most patients can resume their normal daily activities shortly after the procedure. You may experience some mild discomfort or soreness at the injection site for a short period.
Aftercare Instructions:
PRP stimulates collagen production, enhances blood flow, and improves nerve sensitivity, leading to increased sexual arousal and enhanced orgasms. You can expect to see continued improvements over the course of several months after your procedure.
The vaginal rejuvenation process begins immediately, and the effects of the O-shot can last 1-2 yrs. Every patient is different, however, and we will typically recommend a check-in with our provider to evaluate whether a second maintenance shot is needed in a given time period.
Discomfort is minimal. The treatment area is numbed with a topical cream, and most patients report only mild discomfort or a slight pinching sensation during the injections.
