CORE Intima uses medical laser technology to deliver light energy to the tissues in and around the vagina. The laser energy stimulates the body’s own healing response to promote increased collagen production. By creating microscopic holes in the treatment tissues, the laser stimulates collagen production. This natural healing response improves the soft tissue tone, texture, and appearance in the vaginal canal and over the external vulva. In addition, the laser energy stimulates increased moisture in the vaginal canal, reducing dryness and discomfort during intimate relations.
When treating the external vulva, the CO2RE® Intima laser uses a single-use, sterile handpiece on the treatment area. The unit is positioned over the targeted soft tissues and delivers gentle laser energy to the targeted tissue. This results in a remodeling of the labial and vulvar tissues, improving flexibility and shape as well as improving skin pigmentation and tone.
When treating the internal vaginal canal, the CO2RE® Intima uses a tube, attached to a sterile, single-use handpiece which is inserted into the vaginal canal. From inside the vagina, the laser energy is delivered to the vaginal wall in a 360-degree manner. The handpiece is positioned at the top of the vagina, delivering the laser energy as it moves lower into the vagina, treating each section until the vaginal opening is reached. The tube is rotated to address each section of the vaginal wall until all parts have been treated. The laser energy stimulates the healing response of the tissues, remodels the soft tissues for improved flexibility and shape, and increases moisture levels within the vaginal canal.

It uses a CO2 laser, which has been proven to remodel tissue, collagen, and elastic fibers.
